Why two different courses?

How Do I Choose?

Students need expert help and advice when choosing university degree courses - especially while considering their UCAS applications.

Headstart has shown thousands of students the wide range of opportunity available within science, engineering and technology careers by examining different disciplines - see just how wide by looking at the details on our 'Courses' page - so for those who are interested but not yet quite sure which branch of the profession is right for them, a traditional Headstart course is the best choice.

But for those have decided which career they will follow and now need to know exactly what it is that chemical, civil, electronic, aeronautical or mechanical engineers etc do for a living, where they work and what conditions may be expected after they graduate, Headstart Focus is the way to find out more.

Whether you attend a Headstart or Headstart Focus course, you can be sure the importance of a career in science, engineering and technology will be much clearer afterwards: these courses are designed for those proficient in maths and science subjects who want to find out how to use their skills and education to best advantage.

You can distinguish these from broad-based courses as they refer to 'Focus' in the title on the Courses pages.
